That's right, Love Island Australia is back for Season 5 and 10 spicy new singles have entered into in the Villa in a bid to find love.

Monday's premiere episode was stacked to the brim with new couples, a mammoth twist and one hell of a British Bombshell – so how about we dive right in?

Sophie Monk announces a twist ahead of the first Coupling

After jetting over to the sunny Spanish Villa, we meet the five stunning single ladies on the hunt for love this season; Tia, Savanah, Tyra, Kirra and Nakia.

And shortly after, we meet the five hunky lads that hoping to sweep the ladies off their feet; Zac, Trent, Ollie, Ben and Nate.

The girls sit back and sip on a bubbly as they grill the boys over their usual types, jobs and living situations.

Kiwi Zac leads the charge by revealing he's "unemployed and still lives with [his] parents", but the ladies (and we for that matter) are relieved to find out he's only kidding.

Looks like we might've found the joker of the season.

If you're a long standing fan of Love Island Australia, you know that this is usually the time when the girls line up and the boys choose who they want to couple up with.

Well, that's not the case this season.

Ahead of the first Coupling Ceremony, Sophie Monk announces a major twist.

"This year the power has shifted and the girls are in charge," the host reveals.

"What!?" Nakia squeals.

English lad Ollie seems less impressed. "Interesting," he remarks.

With the roles reversed this year, the boys line up and are asked to step forward if they like the girl they see.

All of the boys take a step forward for Tia and Tyra, but sadly no one takes the leap for our Married At First Sight beauty Kirra.

As the last girl to take her pick, Nakia has a chance to ruffle some feathers but plays it safe and picks the last single guy Nate.

And just like that, we have our first couples of the season!

A love triangle begins to form

Of all the couples that have blossomed from the Coupling Ceremony, Tia and Trent seem to have the strongest connection. Yes, even after less than 24 hours.

"I'm so glad I picked him. F--k yeah, I make good choices!" Tia tells cameras.

Tia confesses to Trent that she's had her eyes on him from the beginning, and it's enough to make him blush.

"I feel like I hit the jackpot," he grins from ear to ear.

"I think I've put all my eggs in one basket," Trent admits.

But there's another guy hot on Tia's tail – Nate.

Later that day he pulls Tia aside for a chat and Trent watches on from the balcony above, he's "quietly confident that Tia's eyes are on [him] only".

But we're not so sure.

Nate and Tia quickly get talking about their future goals. Yep, we're talking kids and buying houses.

"We were getting hot down there and not the weather hot," Tia tells cameras of her chat with Nate.

While Tia says she loves Trent's banter and affectionate side, she thinks something more meaningful might be there with Nate.

"I know it's early to say this but I feel like I'm going to connect deeper with Nate than Trent," she admits.

An international Bombshell enters the Villa

Tia interrupts drinks by the Firepit with this very important announcement: "I got a text!"

"Tick, tick, tick boom, the first Bomb is on her way. All the boys to the Firepit," she reads.

Excitement bubbles over as the lads prepare themselves for the newest arrival.

"This is it – this is what we've been waiting for," Nate beams.

"Bro, imagine if she's better than whoever you're with?" Zac whispers.

The girls are less thrilled.

"Seriously now, we just got here... why do we need a new girl?" Tyra huffs.

In walks British beauty and Love Island UK star Lucinda. She's shimmering in gold, bares a bottle of champagne and the UK accent is charming the Aussie boys.

"She's so hot! She's 100 percent my type," Zac is quick to confirm.

"She was my crush from the season she was on. I'm fangirling hard."

"Lucinda is a 10 out of 10, the games have begun and things are going to get crazy," Zac sets the tone for the days to follow.
