'I'm pretty beaten up': Sam hits a 'brutal' roadblock on his quest to chase down the other trekkers on The Summit 2024

EXCLUSIVE: Being 'The Chaser' on The Summit is not for the faint of heart.

Season 1 trekker Sam is back, making incredible progress as he tries to catch Season 2's trekkers despite their four-day head start.

Despite having confidence in his ability and making good gains on the group, in an exclusive and unseen video Sam admits it's been "rough".

"To be honest, I'm pretty beaten up," he said.

"The pressure's been put on, I have not stopped since seeing Jai on the sand and it's taken a toll on the body. But I've got a deadline and I've just got to push forward."

EPISODE 4: A shock twist ends tense rivalry with brutal elimination

Unfortunately for him, he then hit a "brutal" roadblock.

In Episode 3, the group worked in pairs to cross ropes suspended high above a raging river below. However, Sam was solo had to pull himself across with only the help of two pieces of wood.

"Is this a joke?" he yelled as he began the crossing.

"This mountain is testing me in a lot of ways but a task like this is pretty time sensitive so we're going to push through the pain and we're going to keep burning. I can't be slowed down."

Sam sighed with relief as he made it to the other side.
