A closer look at The Summit trekkers' lives away from the mountain
The latest season of The Summit was certainly a wild one!
The show began by following 14 trekkers as they attempt to reach the peak of a mountain in New Zealand, with $1 million spread between them in their backpacks.

It's fair to say there were a plethora of larger-than-life characters making the journey up the mountain.

Mat Rogers
In the months that have followed Mat Rogers' incredible $100,000 Summit win, the footy star has been busy with his career and family.
But in August 2024, he took to social media to share something he'd been "wanting to do for some time".
The Australian dual-code rugby legend got a touching tattoo tribute of the picture on the right, featuring himself and his brother Don with their father Steve.
Steve Rogers paved the way for son Mat. He was a Cronulla Sharks player for the NRL in the 70s and 80s, and sadly passed in 2006.
"While the NRL named their immortal I spent a day last week having my immortals tattooed on my leg @don_rogersmusic and my old Man! Been wanting to do this for some time! Thanks for knocking it out of the park @frank_wilcock! Love it!" Mat wrote.

Mat unveiled the tattoo in a video posted to social media.
It's safe to say Mat was impressed with the final result, as were fans.
"That is forever and special. A special man and his boys. The Prince of centres," one follower wrote.
While another said, "That's awesome Mat… your dad would be very proud."
Simmone Jade Mackinnon
Simmone is an actress and business owner but she's first and foremost a mother.
The McLeod's Daughters star shared this beautiful photo of her and her son Madigan as the pair celebrated their joint birthday in March 2024.
"51 years ago today, I came into this world," she began.
"14 years ago today, Madigan arrived earth-side, giving me the best birthday present I could have ever hoped for.
"I wouldn't want to be doing life (or this adventure) with anyone else."

On her Instagram account, Simmone often takes a trip down memory lane throwing back to her best known roles.
In 1999, Simmone played the rolle of Allie Reese opposite David Hasselhoff in Baywatch: Hawaii.
It was on the set of Baywatch: Hawaii that Simmone met her ex-fiance Aquaman star Jason Mamoa.
The pair were together for six years and were engaged in 2004 before they called things off.
Reminiscing on the acting role, Simmone wrote alongside this photo: "When I was hired as Allie Reese for Baywatch Hawaii I couldn't believe it. I was the only Aussie female to ever play a permanent role in the history of the show."

Simmone has also been very open about how difficult the past few years have been for her.
"The last three years have been the hardest of my life and that caused severe anxiety," Simmone said.
"After a week of pretty much back-to-back panic attacks, that led to massive hair loss."
The star said that with big chunks falling out of her head, she "had no choice" but to shave it all out.
"You lose your hair and it's a massive psychological hit," she added.
She's documented her hair journey, from shaving it off to growing it back, on her Instagram.

Simmone is also the proud owner of small business The Wandering Ozzie, a brand that sells clothing, home ware and accessories.
Olympia Valance
In 2023, Olympia joined the cast of Netflix's hit Australia teen surfing drama Surviving Summer.
In the series, Olympia plays a character named Elo.
Taking to her Instagram, Olympia said: "It wasn't easy playing a character like Elo! If you've already seen @survivingsummerofficial you'll know exactly what I've talking about. If you haven't you'll want to slap her 😂."

Now, the couple have been married for almost two years.
Together they have been trying for a baby, a journey Olympia has been very open about.
"It's actually been a really tough couple of years, we're doing IVF, got pregnant the first time and then we miscarried twins during COVID," Olympia told 9Entertainment.

After Olympia and her husband Thomas endured a taxing few years, she said the timing of The Summit felt "serendipitous".
She revealed she was ready to throw herself into the physical challenge of The Summit and find her spark again.
"I want to challenge my body and put it through something that I can finally be proud of because it's been failing me for so many years," Olympia said.
