Qantas is one of the world's most on-time airlines, new data shows
Aussie airline Qantas is leading the field when it comes to being on time.
Number crunchers say the airline was the 3rd most on time major airline globally in January.
Almost 85 per cent of flights were on time, industry analytics company OAG said.

Chief Executive Officer Qantas Domestic Markus Svensson told 9Travel workers have been "working hard to deliver more reliable services."
"The feedback we're getting from customers is that they're noticing the difference when they fly with us and we're continuing to invest across our operations, from engineering to airports and new aircraft so we can continue build on this momentum," he said in a statement.

That's compared with a dismal time ranking for Qantas a few years ago, according to The Australian.
Qantas sank to 106th in the world for punctuality, with fewer than two-thirds of flights operating to schedule and a 6.9 per cent cancellation rate in May, 2022 the publication reported.

Qantas is rolling out new planes, which likely helps.
That includes new A220s and the first three A321XLRs.
The A321XLRs aircraft, named Great Ocean Road (VH-OGA) and Outback Way (VH-OGB) are initially being used on Sydney-Melbourne and Sydney-Perth routes.

The world's two most on-time airlines for the month were China Southern and China-based Hainan Airlines.
Meanwhile Qantas dropped slightly in another recent ranking.
While still one of the world's safest airlines, it dropped to number four on the chart globally.
Etihad Airways was named the world's safest airline for the first time, taking out the top spot in the annual ranking in 2026.
Qantas is one of a handful of airlines which are confirmed to be flying from the new Western Sydney International Airport.
Planes will take off from October this year, it has been revealed.

Jetstar, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand confirmed to have signed up for the new airport in the city's west.
Which routes exactly Qantas and Jetstar will run from the new airport are yet to be unveiled.
Qantas confirmed it would start flying freight planes in and out of the new airport in the middle of this year, after the final fit out of cargo facilities.
