This Fiji hotel is about to open the biggest pool in the South Pacific

Fiji sits firmly on the list of favourite holiday destinations for Aussies, as the perfect place for families, couples, friends, and solo trips.
It's also a great place to keep going back to, with plenty of new things on the way for Fiji in 2026.
It's no wonder the island destination was at number seven on Expedia's top summer travel spots. Here are some highlights on the way.

Fiji accommodation
There's a new upmarket place to stay on the ever-popular Denarau Island on the way.
Once it's opened, five-star resort Vatu Talei will boast the biggest pool in the South Pacific.
There will even be direct 'dive in' access from pool rooms and suites, so you can go straight from bed into the water.
It includes an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a lazy river, waterslides, and themed water zones.
The hotel will have 175 rooms and will open in late 2026.

Meanwhile, Serenity Sands will unveil glamping tents at their island resort. With king and bunk options, they are scheduled to be unveiled in late February.
Mamanuca favourite Plantation Island will also be reopening in late 2026. It'll have new and improved restaurants and bures, plus another pool.
Super luxe destination Six Senses Fiji is expanding its private residences on Malolo Island.
Three more will open, joining the 16 island havens which aim to offer "barefoot luxury".

Hilton Garden Inn Suva will also open in the capital.
Volivoli Beach Resort will also open its new beachfront villas in March. The resort is best known for diving and off-the-beaten-track stays.
VOMO Island is also reopening in April after renovations to revamp reception and the pool plus create a new bar.
The new Pan Asian Restaurant will open at the Crowne Plaza Fiji hotel.

New things to do in Fiji
Most Aussies love a barbie and now you can have one in Fiji - on a boat. Go Local Fiji has launched the country's first eco-electric, self-drive BBQ boat.
Explore Port Denarau Marina while grilling your favourite food and taking in beautiful views. Suitable for couples, families, or groups of friends.
South Sea Cruises welcomed the arrival of the Yasawa Flyer III, a new vessel that boosts both capacity and service for more travellers to explore Fiji's Yasawa group.
Blue Lagoon Cruises will also launch MV Yasawa Princess II in April 2026. The 45-metre catamaran features 22 cabins for up to 44 guests and a shallow draft for access to remote islands.

Events in Fiji
While relaxing by the pool is high on the list of most Aussies heading to Fiji, there are plenty of events to tie in to your holiday.
Music In Paradise is confirmed to return for 2026 at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. Expect Birds of Tokyo in March, Delta Goodrem in April, and The Living End in October.

The World Surf League has confirmed its return to Cloudbreak as stop number eight on the championship tour Ed Sloane/World Surf League
Reggae icons UB40 are also taking to the stage in Nadi on January 30.
The inaugural Fiji World Masters Golf Championships is in July 2026.
The seven-day event will feature four competitive rounds, with separate divisions for men and women and multiple grades, bringing together golfers from across the globe.
The World Surf League has confirmed its return to Cloudbreak as stop number eight on the championship tour,from August 25 until September 8.
New flights to Fiji
Fiji Airways will launch direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi from 11 June 2026. Operating three times weekly on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays aboard the Boeing 737-MAX 8, the new route adds 53,000 seats annually.
Fiji Airways has also launched a new menu and on-demand dining for business class on long-haul.

A full rollout is planned for 2026, including on flights to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Canberra, and Adelaide.
Economy passengers will also get a revamped menu with new options including cocktails, hot chocolate and new snacks.
