England manager Thomas Tuchel has just begun his press conference.

He has told reporters that he has “zero regrets” about the decisions he made during the game.

“There are millions of coaches who know it better after a defeat,” he says.

“Today we played one of our best games, maybe even our best game. We have no regrets. It is easy to say my decisions were wrong ... but I have no regrets.”

Harry Kane has spoken to beIN Sports after the semi-final defeat. Here is what he had to say.

“We lost momentum in the game,” he began.

“After we went 1-0 up, we spoke a lot about trying to go for a second and finishing off (the job). We probably tried for a few minutes and then we lost the ball.

“We tried our best to shut down the space and defend the box, but we conceded. I think we just tried to hang on a little too early.

“In the end it didn’t work out for us ... there is always going to be talk or people trying to blame coaches. He would’ve been called a genius if it worked, but it didn’t work for many different reasons, not just that (substitution call).

“We are coming close (to winning titles). We are knocking on the door. We just need to find that missing piece of the puzzle.”

One is now 39 and the other just turned 19.

Both Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal are in the World Cup final.

With that, Lionel Messi will likely take home the Golden Boot for the 2026 World Cup.

The Argentinian superstar is currently level with Kylian Mbappe in the race for the honourable title, with the pair both smashing eight goals this tournament.

As France are out of the tournament, all Messi needs is a goal to secure that title. If he does not score, Mbappe will win the title due to the tiebreaker advantage as he has three assists to Messi’s two.

Erling Haaland finished in third while England’s Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane are tied in four with six goals and one assist.

Only two nations in the history of the World Cup have successfully defended their title. Italy did it in 1934 and 1938, Brazil then achieved the feat in 1958 and 1962.

No men’s national team has managed to replicate that feat since 1962.

If Argentina do so on Monday, Kevin-Prince Boateng feels the best thing for superstar Lionel Messi to do is to call time on his career.

“My recommendation for him would just be to retire in that moment,” he declared on SBS.

“It simply can’t get any better. He would be the biggest ever footballer, whether you like him or not. Winning it twice and being so clutch, it is incredible.

“The way (Argentina and the playing group) celebrates him ... he is there No.10.”

Craig Foster has watched England go through this cycle many times.

The Australian legend has pointed England manager Thomas Tuchel to one key area to reconsider when he brings the team back together in the future.

“England to got themselves up and then just sat back really,” he told Nine’s Today.

“Thomas Tuchel, he tried to close the game down at one nil and just gamble on the fact that they were able to hold on.

“The trouble is when you’ve got Lionel Messi on the other side, that’s difficult.

“Tuchel and England completely conceded control of the game. You conceded to Leo Messi … you cannot give control of the game to Leo Messi. Poor English fans.”
