Damien started his career at the NT News in Darwin, fresh out of high school in 2011. After nearly five years covering cops, crocs and cyclones, he moved into communications with NT Police, Fire and Emergency services. After moving to the big smoke of Sydney in 2018 and a brief career hiatus, Damien returned to media with Wide World of Sports in 2022.
Education
Rather than attending university after high school, Damien got into journalism the old-fashioned way by completing a cadetship during his time with the NT News. He later added to that a post-graduate diploma of Sports Media with UTS in 2020.
