Good night!
What a final few overs that was for Australia.
Those final three wickets fell for just nine runs. The second new ball certainly played it's part.
Anyway, thanks for tuning into Wide World of Sports' LIVE coverage of day one.
We'll be back tomorrow.
That's stumps
The boys survive!
Kusal Mendis and Lahiru Kamara walk off with big smiles.

Sri Lanka are 9-228 at stumps.
"If you had of asked Australia, having lost the toss, that they could nearly bowl Sri Lanka out for a score of nearly 230, they would've taken that," Greg Blewett said on Seven.
Sri Lanka could be bowled out
Another wicket falls.
Nishan Peiris is gone after simply being beaten on the outside edge by Matt Kuhnemann.
The stumps were castled and Peiris is gone for a duck.
Milestone for Kusal
The last hope for Australia brings up a half-century.
Kusal Mendis is keeping this batting lineup together ... just.
Oooohhh
Mitchell Starc gets his hat-trick ball to swing but it's too wide.
Nishan Peiris played at the ball but it just wasn't straight enough to catch the edge.
Starc's on a hat-trick
He's a superstar this Mitchell Starc.
Prabath Jayasuriya plays at a delivery on off stump and hardly moves his feet.
That proves costly because he's nicked it to second slip and Steve Smith takes a wicket.
Starc on a hat-trick.
That catch for Smith takes him to 197 Test catches for Australia. He's gone ahead of Ricky Ponting as the no.1 for his country now.

GONE
Ramesh Mendis fought so hard but he's gone just before stumps.
He was on 28 off 93 balls and had faced a Mitchell Starc bouncer just before.
This delivery pushed outside the off stump and Mendis wanted to leave it but he was in two minds.
The edge of his bat was caught and Alex Carey did the rest. That's a big blow.

New ball not far off
There's now three overs until the new ball is due.
Australia will be looking forward to it because the Mendis boys are putting on a solid partnership here.
