$1500 for cheap seats as 'iconic' baseball World Series featuring $1b megastar rocks America
The price of entry to the Major League Baseball World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees is causing shocks around the sporting world.
Two of baseball's most iconic teams will take on each other in game one from Saturday, October 26 (AEDT).
Game one is in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium, and tickets feature on many resale sites. The range of prices goes from $1,514 to $1,703.

The average price in 2023 was $884 and the year before that it was $1,303.

The reason why?
Essentially, these two teams are the biggest in baseball when it comes to status and fan bases.
"What we're seeing here is two iconic and extremely large fan bases," Adam Budelli, spokesperson of resale site StubHub, told The New York Times.
By population, New York City and Los Angeles are the two biggest populations in the USA.

According to the 2020 census, NYC had a population of 8.8 million followed by LA with 3.8m.
Then there's the fact these two clubs have met 11 times in the World Series. The Yankees have won eight times.
Originally the Dodgers were based in Brooklyn, meaning they were sharing NYC with the Yankees.
Before the 1958 season, the Dodgers moved to LA. But that didn't stop the rivalry.
To go with that, there's plenty of expectation since both these sides haven't met in the World Series since 1981.
Then there's the two superstars: Aaron Judge and Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani.
They are the two frontrunners for the MVP award.
Last year, Ohtani signed a whopping $1 billion (AUD) 10-year contract with the Dodgers.
His deal made headlines around the world.
And if there weren't already enough eyes on the MLB from Japanese fans, the deal only would've increased that.
With a seven-game series ahead, the potential to make some serious money is there.
