Richmond reportedly want two draft picks for Shai Bolton - but will they get it?

AFL reporter Damian Barrett has questioned why the Tigers needed to receive a draft pick for departing star Jack Graham.

The 26-year-old will move to West Coast next year, with Richmond receiving pick No.42 as compensation for the trade.

"I think there should be no compensation," he said on AFL Trade Radio.

"Ultimately, if Richmond really wanted to keep Jack Graham, they would have found a way. They will keep telling us they may have made him their future captain, but this is not the first time Jack Graham has been shopped around.

"I don't know why we even needed to allot a number - it's a token number at 42 anyway and Richmond is gonna have 100 draft picks, I don't know how they're gonna use them." 

Nick Hind has received "a little bit of interest" from other AFL clubs after being delisted by Essendon at the end of the season.

But his manager, Scott Lucas, explained that due to the strength of this year's AFL draft, the 30-year-old will be forced to wait for an opportunity.

"Clubs I think will cool their jets even further this year because most think it's a strong draft," he told SEN Radio.

"Clubs will be erring on the side of taking picks to the draft instead of trading out. For those who have been delisted, it's a real waiting time unfortunately.

"There's been a little bit of interest for Nick, but there's a lot more to play out and a bit of time will need to pass before finalising any of that."

Riley Garcia has knocked back reported interest from Sydney to remain at the Western Bulldogs until the end of 2027 according to a report from the AFL's official website.

The young star played a career-high 12 games this season and had been linked with a move to the Swans, but opted to sign a three-year extension.

Garcia will now look to become a permanent fixture under head coach Luke Beveridge.

Geelong have made a huge move in the wake of their season, extending the contracts of four players.

Jake Kolodjashnij, Jed Bews, Lawson Humphries and Ted Clohesy have all signed new deals with the Cats after helping them to a prelim final berth.

"We are pleased Jake, Jed, Lawson and Ted have signed on and will remain at the Cats," general manager of football Andrew Mackie said.

"Jake continues to be a vital player to our backline structure and has enjoyed another consistent season. Jed is a great club person and was a key part of the team in the back-end of the season.

"With their experience and the way they approach their footy, both players play an important role for our emerging group of young players.

"Lawson has been extremely impressive in his short time at the club. He has quickly established himself at AFL level with his disposal and ability to make good decisions.

"Ted has shown promising signs the last two years as he continues to develop his craft as an inside midfielder and as a forward, and we can't wait to see both Lawson and Ted continue to grow and develop."
