Taylor Walker’s first finals win in nine years

Lachlan Harper

For Taylor Walker it’s been a long time between victories in September.

Nine years in fact.

The forward was full of praise for the fans.

“You can tell what it meant to them,” he told Seven.

“The last couple of home games they’ve come out in packs of people. I’m so grateful I’ve been able to play so many games at this ground.”

Full time - Crows are heading to Brisbane

Adelaide 90 defeat the Bulldogs 68. They kicked five in a row after losing the lead to win the game.

Consolation goal for the Dogs before the siren.

Adelaide will head to Brisbane next week. Bulldogs’ season is over.

Crows are home and Matty Nicks loves it

Nic Negrepontis

Deep breath for Adelaide fans. After losing both finals last year, they’ve got the monkey off the back.

Josh Rachele kicks another and the crowd goes nuts.

They’ve shown coach Matthew Nicks on the big screen and the crowd has given him a huge ovation, leading to a smile and a thumbs up.

His job is safe, at least for another week.

Rankine seals the deal with magic moment

Izak Rankine MAGIC!

He snaps through the winner. Game over. Crows advance.

Crows stars deliver when it matters most

Darcy Fogarty slots a goal from a set shot and they’ve now kicked three in a row.

Garry Lyon believes this game has come down to simple goal kicking. Aaron Naughton, Cody Weightman and Buku Khamis have all missed set shots in this second half, while the Crows key forward trio have all delivered.

“They’ve gone bang, bang, bang. They’ve delivered and up the other end of the ground, they’ve been misses. It’s the difference,” Lyon said.

Adelaide leads 78-61.

Ricciuto questions Nicks move

Nic Negrepontis

Adelaide football director, and Fox Footy commentator, Mark Ricciuto seems to not be a fan of coach Matthew Nicks putting captain Jordan Dawson loose in defence in this fourth quarter.

Given Nicks’ job is reportedly on the line in this finals series, the vocal criticism from a club legend and internal figure is worth noting.

“You’d think it’s high risk for not a lot of gain,” Ricciuto said of the move.

"It's either going to be seen as a masterstroke or them going too defensive too early."

Tex ignites the Adelaide crowd!

Nic Negrepontis

Retiring key forward Taylor Walker marks on the 50, goes back and slots an enormous goal to give the Crows back their 11-point buffer.

Biggest roar of the night from the crowd. Clutch kicks from Thilthorpe and Walker after Naughton botched his chance.

Do the Dogs have another run in them?

Naughton blows it at one end ... Thilthorpe delivers

Aaron Naughton blows (another) simple set shot at one end. It gives the Dogs a one point lead, but a missed opportunity.

Riley Thilthorpe takes a big mark up the other end, and converts. Crows back in front.

Scores are level out of nowhere

Nic Negrepontis

Now Ed Richards launches one from 50 on the run and we are tied!

Out of nowhere, the Bulldogs have kicked the first three of the term and they have all the momentum.

We’re tied at 59.
