Queen Camilla gives health update on King Charles ahead of prostate treatment

Queen Camilla has given an update on King Charles' health following the announcement he'll undergo a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate next week.

Camilla, 76, arrived at Aberdeen Art Gallery in Scotland on Thursday and apologised for running late.

"Good morning, it was quite a frosty journey. Sorry, we're a bit late, I'm afraid," Queen Camilla said in a video shared by ITV's Chris Ship on X.

"How is His Majesty?" she was asked by Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeen Dr. David Cameron.

Queen Camilla answered: "He's fine, thank you very much. Looking forward to getting back to work."

Just hours after it was announced the Princess of Wales would be undergoing planned abdominal surgery, Buckingham Palace announced King Charles, 75, would be treated for an enlarged prostate.

"In common with thousands of men each year, The King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate," the statement read.

"His Majesty's condition is benign, and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure.

"The King's public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation."

It is understood King Charles wanted to share his condition to raise awareness of the condition which is common in men over 50.

The monarch is expected to return to duties in two weeks time. The Princess of Wales will need longer to recover and isn't expected to return to her royal duties until Easter.

Queen Camilla was opening a new Safe Space location for victims of domestic abuse when she was asked about her husband's condition.

The royal has focused on supporting victims of abuse during her time as a working royal, in addition to other patronages.
