Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor spends first night inside his new home, Marsh Farm, after royal exile from Windsor

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has moved into his new permanent home, Marsh Farm, on the King's private Sandringham Estate.

The former prince was living in temporary accommodation, Wood Farm, while renovations were being completed at the property nearby.

Andrew, 66, was evicted from the sprawling Royal Lodge in Windsor earlier this year following revelations about the extent of his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Wood Farm – which was where the late Prince Philip spent much of his time in retirement – was where Andrew was staying when he was arrested on February 19, which happened to be his birthday.

The former Duke of York was questioned for nearly 12 hours, detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Andrew was accused of sharing private information with Epstein during his years as a UK trade envoy. He was released without charge under investigation.

Last week, the Crown Prosecution Service said it was providing "early investigative advice" to police forces regarding the investigation into Andrew's links to Epstein.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in relation to the paedophile.

Communications between the King's younger brother and Epstein featured among a cache of files released by the US Department of Justice.

Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's relationship with Epstein lead to King Charles stripping them of their Duke and Duchess of York titles in October last year.

On Tuesday, Andrew was seen walking his dogs between Wood Farm and Marsh Farm on the Norfolk estate.

Members of his staff were seen delivering bags to the five-bedroom property a short time later.

Until now, Marsh Farm had been vacant for years and recently, wooden fences were installed along with a new security surveillance system.

The property's two reception rooms, and kitchen, at the front of the house, needed extensive work before it was deemed liveable.

In December, a no-fly zone restriction around Sandringham was extended to include Marsh Farm, which is located around three kilometres from the main house where the royals celebrate Christmas each year.

According to reports from British media, Andrew had been due to leave Wood Farm by the Easter weekend to allow Prince Edward and his wife Sophie to use the property for a short break, as they have done in the past.

Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh stayed at Gardens House nearby.

Prince Edward is understood to have visited Andrew recently, the first member of the royal family to do so since the former prince's exile.

The 62-year-old joined King Charles and Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, for Easter Sunday at Windsor Castle. But the duchess pulled out at the last minute as she was feeling under the weather, according to reports.

Andrew's two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were also absent from the Easter celebrations with the royal family.
