Prince Edward becomes first royal to visit Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after arrest and eviction

Prince Edward has become the first royal to visit his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, after he was booted out of his home of 20 years and arrested for his alleged links to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But it may not have been a cordial visit.

The Sun reports that Edward, 62, was due to stay at Wood Farm this week as he does every Easter weekend, but as Andrew, 66, has been holed up in the residence, his younger brother had to stay at the main house of the estate nearby.

While the Duke of Edinburgh stayed at the royal family's estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, he decided to visit and have a "quiet word" with his disgraced older brother.

A source told the outlet, "Andrew has been dragging his heels. He could have moved by now, but has been reluctant. Edward has had a quiet word with his brother."

Andrew was staying at Wood Farm temporarily as his residence at Marsh Farm on the same estate was being fixed for him to live in permanently.

The source added that not even Andrew's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, nor his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have visited the former prince since he was smuggled out from Royal Lodge under the cover of darkness in February.

Edward was also the first royal to speak out after Andrew's arrest in February for suspicion of misconduct in public office due to his name appearing in the Epstein files, with the Duke of Edinburgh siding with "the victims".

While at a conference in Dubai, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II was confronted with a question about his older brother. He replied, "I think it's all really important, always, to remember the victims, and who are the victims in all this."

Edward was far from the first royal in the family to visit Sandringham since Andrew's arrest, with King Charles III having stayed for a week just last month at a residence a mile away from where Andrew was.

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are also currently nearby, spending their holiday at Amner Hall, but have not visited their uncle.
