The $10 buy that transforms everything from Easter gifts to handbags and book storage

A few clever DIYers have cracked the code to elevating Easter gifts with a $10 buy from Kmart.

TikToker Lauren showed how you could use the two-pack clear packing cubes from Kmart to make a gift pack.

In a video posted to TikTok, she put hand cream and Easter chocolates into the clear containers before wrapping the gift package with a ribbon.

Mum Sophie Chalmer has also used the hack for her Easter gifts and shared what she put in it in a TikTok.

"Let's make three really easy Easter gifts using the Kmart packing cubes," she starts the video.

She started by adding in some shredded paper, which can be bought from craft stores and shops selling gift wrapping supplies.

"Remember, less is more because we have to zip these up," she says as she's adding in the stuffing.

For the gifts inside the packing cubes, she used the Freshwater Farm Australia hand cream from Woolworths, currently priced at $14.

She also added a small Cadbury bunny and some small Cadbury eggs.

Chalmer finished the project by zipping the case closed, finishing it off with a pink ribbon.

The hack is an easy way to present your Easter gifts, but the clear packing cube is a gift within itself that can be used so many different ways.

Nine.com.au reporter Amy Lyall is one of many mums who have found them useful as on-the-go storage for her child's nappies.

"The clear cases are made of a reasonably hard plastic, meaning they won't get crushed in your handbag or if you just throw them into the back of the car, and they are the perfect size for nappies," Lyall said.

"After seeing so many mums online raving about them, I bought a set – in pink, because my Kmart was out of the clear ones – and can confirm they are the best size for a few nappies."

"In one case I've got a handful of nappies, a disposable change table mat, nappy bags and, of course, a small packet of wipes."

"It's the perfect size to throw in a handbag if I'm swapping them, or give to my husband to put in a backpack."

The cubes have also been adopted by booklovers on Tiktok, who say they are perfect for protecting your books while travelling.

"How amazing is it?! Keeps my books from folding, I know it doesn't fit all the books, but it fits most of the paperback ones…so super happy!! @kmart you did it again!" she said in a TikTok video.

A similar case can also be found at Officeworks, which sells the Soeru Box Pencil Case A5 Clear for $16. It comes in blue, pink and black.
