In an email sent to customers, Australia Post announced it is changing its Parcel Collect addresses so they’re easier to enter at the checkout when shopping online. From September 1, Parcel Collect addresses will use a “short identifying number” with no street number or name required.
The new address format will appear. Customers can then enter their name as it appears on their MyPost account.

Where they are asked for “street address” or “address line 1″ they enter the phrase “Parcel Collect” plus the two-digit ID provided.
Customers then add the suburb, state, and postcode, and they are ready to go.
The change will roll out gradually. Australia Post
This change only impacts people who choose to send their online orders to a Post Office counter or Parcel Locker for collection. It does not impact regular home deliveries or PO Box holders.
Australia Post said the change will be gradual, so customers may see the old address “for a short while”, with customers instructed to “keep using the address as it appears in MyPost and your parcels will be delivered as normal”.
A spokesperson for Australia Post as told nine.com.au: “Australia Post is investing to upgrade its network because the way Australians work, shop and connect has changed. Australians are sending fewer letters than ever before, while buying, selling and transacting online at record levels.
“Australia Post is introducing simpler delivery addresses for Parcel Lockers, which will be far easier for online shoppers to remember and enter at checkout. Customers can see their saved delivery addresses or add new ones in the Aus Post app.

This change comes ahead of a major expansion of Australia Post’s Parcel Locker service which has experienced a reported 20 per cent increase in usage over the past year.
This expansion will take place over the next five years to cater to “growing demand for flexible delivery options”.
More than two million customers are now registered to use Australia Posts’s Parcel Locker network, with 5000 collection points nationwide at Post Offices, residential precincts, shopping centres and transport hubs and over 1500 Parcel Lockers.
Parcel Lockers are not only being used to collect packages, but increasingly being used for returns which have increased by 36 per cent year-on-year.
