The $14 Kmart buy that transforms into the perfect gift for absolutely anyone

Buying gifts, no matter the occasion, can be a stressful experience when you just don't know what to get for your loved ones.

But there is an easy solution that's also budget-friendly – making your own gift packs.

It means tailoring the sets to each person, with products featuring their favourite colours and fragrances.

And the total cost can suit any budget by selecting items that fit within your specific amount.

All you need is the right bag to pop all those bits and pieces into and I think I've found it with the gorgeous Oxx Cosmetics makeup bag for $14 each.

The makeup bag has a stripe design with green and blue, pink, orange and pink and purple and red to suit most tastes.

If you know those colours won't suit then there are plenty of other designs in that shape, also for $14, including lemon with a subtle check textured pattern.

Kids

For a gift set with my niece in mind I've used the lemon cosmetic bag and added in some adorable hair clips because she loves them so much she'd cover her whole head with them if she could.

The four-pack of embroidery fruit clips is just $4 and absolutely adorable! But there are all sorts of hair clips, ties and accessories you can pop in if the child in your life likes something else.

Now, I wouldn't be a good auntie if I didn't encourage some healthy habits so the OXX Bodycare hand sanitiser in vanilla scent with super cute donut detail or the vanilla ice cream scent with rainbow detail for $4 each are brilliant options.

Package that all up in the bag and all you need to do is add a gift tag and it's ready to go for Christmas morning.

Boys are well catered for too, and thinking of my nephew the blue and green cosmetic bag would suit best as green is his favourite colour.

Sticking with the PJs idea, the short sleeve knit woven pyjama set for $16 in green check is perfect for the green theme and comes in sizes 8 to 16.

I'll drop in the hand sanitiser again from the same $4 range but this time choosing the lime cordial scented green monster design.

For a third item, I'm going with one thing that never fails to delight my nephew and many other kids: a Hot Wheels car. The basic range has heaps of options so it'll match any colour scheme, but of course I've selected a green one, and at $2 each they're an easy budget-friendly addition.

Tweens

I don't have any tweens in my life but this idea is perfectly suited to them, especially with the huge trend of this age group getting into all things skincare and beauty.

After selecting the most suitable colour choice for your tween – my eight to 12-year-old self (and current age self) would adore the pink striped bag – then it's on to the fun part.

For pyjamas, the short sleeve knit woven pyjama set is a great option for $16. It comes in pink stripe with cherry bow embroidery and yellow stripe designs in sizes 8 to 16. For the pink theme, the pink stripe works perfectly.

Women

For the women in my life I'm going with the pink striped bag again because I'm obsessed with how cute it is!

We're on a roll with the pyjama theme and the short sleeve top and shorts comfort pyjama set is perfect at just $22 each. The designs include the halo berry halogen blue, iceberg green, tonal stripe pink lady and whisper white, with sizes ranging from 6 to 22.

Perfume is a classic Christmas gift for a reason and Kmart's are exceptionally good, so the $12 OXX fragrance desert mirage eau de parfum 50ml is definitely going in the gift set.

Hair accessories are another fun addition and with fruit-themed products hugely popular right now I'm going with the orange claw hair clip for $5, but there are other fruit designs available including watermelon.

To top it off I'm adding in some lip gloss with the OXX Cosmetics lip tint peptide treatment in a gorgeous berry shade for $6. There is also pink, taupe and chocolate colours available, with the lip treatment providing moisturising benefits as well as colour and shine.
