Little-known supermarket wrap bread named Australia’s best
A little-known supermarket bread made in regional Victoria in Australia has been crowned the country’s best wrap bread, beating out major brands.
Simson’s Pantry wrap bread, produced in Maryborough, has topped the list of Best-Rated Flatbread & Wraps published by consumer group Canstar, scoring five stars for overall satisfaction, taste, texture, variety and range.

Sold at Coles and Woolworths, it comes in white, high-protein, mix wholegrain and sells in packs of eight, costing $4.40 per pack.
In second place is Aldi’s Baker’s Life wrap bread which scored five stars for overall satisfaction, and value for money, and sells for $3.49 for a pack of eight.

Helga’s landed in third place, earning five stars for packaging and four across all other categories. Helga’s sells for $5.50 for packs of seven.
Popular Mission wraps placed four in the consumer vote, scoring four stars in all categories including overall satisfaction, and three stars for value for money. Mission Wraps cost $5.50 for packs of eight.

In fifth and sixth place is Coles Simply and Coles brands respectively. These products are priced at $2.20 for packs of eight.
Woolworths home brand wrap bread placed seventh, earning four stars for value for money and three across the remaining categories and is also priced at $2.20 for packs of eight.
Old El Paso landed in eighth place, followed by Mountain Bread which rounded out the list.
1812 Australians were surveyed by Canstar for their feedback on the flatbread and wrap brands they’ve purchased and used in the last three months.

Canstar’s consumer expert, Eden Radford, told nine.com.au taste and texture are the primary drivers of customers when it comes to supermarket wrap bread, with Simson’s Pantry ranking the highest in these categories.

“Many of us know the frustration of building a delicious wrap only to have it burst, so it’s no surprise that just over a quarter of survey respondents said they deliberately buy larger wraps to prevent this,” she said.
"Whether swapping out your usual loaf of bread or relying on a tried-and-tested recipe, wraps are undeniably becoming a mainstay in Australian pantries."
