'Really, really good': Unexpected flavour in Coles' new hot cross bun range
Coles has announced four exciting hot cross bun flavour collaborations that will arrive in stores in February.
This is the supermarket's biggest-ever range of limited-edition hot cross buns, having partnered up with Arnott's and Doritos for two tasty treats, and showcasing popular food trends for their additional releases.
The first hot cross bun on offer is a Easter Doritos hot cross bun, inspired by cheesy jalapeno, a savoury twist on what is normally a sweet breakfast treat.

Next, Coles is releasing a Mint Slice hot cross bun filled with chocolate chunks and peppermint-flavoured fudge pieces in a rich chocolatey dough.
Their two remaining new releases are their Coles Easter Sticky Date and their Matcha & Raspberry hot cross buns.
The sticky date includes chewy date pieces and caramel-flavoured chips, and the matcha and raspberry blends matcha, white chocolate, and raspberry fudge pieces.
This new range of Coles Hot Cross Buns will hit supermarket shelves on February 2. They cost $5.50 for a pack of four.

Already on sale are Coles' Iced VoVo hot cross buns, Traditional, Chocolate, Fruit Free, Apple & Cinnamon, Mini, Coles Finest Luxurious, and Coles I'm Free From gluten-free hot cross buns.
These range in price from $4.40 to $5.50.
I must admit, I'm a bit of a rebel when it comes to hot cross buns. I go for fruit free, like a toddler. But some of these flavours are definitely tempting!
Over to Woolies, and the too are stocking a full range of traditional hot cross buns as well as their Woolworth's Indulgent range.
These include their award-winning Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns are back and selling for $5.50 for a pack of four, Caramel Biscuit Filled, Cadbury Brioche with Choc Chips, Caramilk.
This is in addition to three varieties of gluten-free hot cross buns including Choc, Apple & Cinnamon, and Traditional.

IGA has collaborated with two popular brands this year to release exclusive flavours, including Terry's Chocolate Orange and Reese's.
Their Terry's Chocolate Orange hot cross buns include orange zest, raisins, and apricot jam. Reese's Hot Cross Buns feature chocolate and salty peanut butter.

They are also selling traditional hot cross buns and gluten-free varieties.
Aldi has also released an extensive range of hot cross bun flavours.
These include traditional hot cross buns as well as Apple & Cinnamon, Banoffee which features caramel and banana flavours, Brioche, Rocky Road, and gluten-free options.
