Bacon is arguably the most divisive food when it comes to the "right" way to cook it.

Some people prefer their rashers charred beyond recognition, while some rather it be a little comparable to warm ham.

But most can agree crispy bacon is the most delicious way to enjoy the breakfast staple.

One chef on TikTok, who is well known for his cooking hacks and handy tips, shared his personal recipe for frying perfectly crispy bacon every single time.

Roice Bethel told his followers in a viral clip that a foolproof way to enjoy crispy rashers is to boil the bacon while cooking it.

Bethel suggests avoiding oil altogether and instead just utilising water and a hot stove.

"If you want perfectly crispy bacon you have to boil it. I know that sounds like it wouldn't work, but it does," the chef told his followers.

The cooking connoisseur explains the key is controlling the temperature. The thick white fat cooks more slowly compared to the darker parts of the rasher.

"The muscle cooks extremely quickly, but the fat takes longer to render out," Bethel said.

Bethel began by placing the rashers of bacon on a cold pan. He then added water to the pan, which ensured the temperature didn't rise too quickly like it does with oil.

"The water prevents the temperature from getting too high, which gives the fat time to render out. So the meat and the fat end up cooking at the same time," he added.

In the clip, Bethel demonstrated how the bacon cooked in the water to a deep pink texture – without any oil at all.

"Once the water completely evaporates, then the bacon gets nice and crispy," he explained. "The meat's not overcooked or burnt and the fat has perfectly rendered."

"Just toss it in a cold oven at like 425 (degrees Fahrenheit). The slow rise will render the fat and it comes out crispy," one person noted.

"I'll try this method," another added. "I normally line a pan with foil, lay the bacon out and put it in a cold oven, cook it at 400 (degrees Fahrenheit) to your likeness).
