A negroni…sbagliato…with prosecco in it? Stunning.

It seems thanks to a viral TikTok sound that a negroni sbagliato is the summer drink of choice this year, according to stats from me&u.

The at-table ordering software company has said that sales of negroni sbagliatos (pronounced 'spal-yacht-oh') have increased by 15 per cent.

Similarly, me&u found that sales of Martinis grew by 23 per cent and the Amaretto Sour a whopping 44 per cent.

Trailing closely behind is the aperol spritz, espresso martini, margaritas, long island iced teas and mojitos.

A negroni is an Italian cocktail, made of one part gin, one part vermouth rosso and one part Campari. By extension, a negroni sbagliato is the same cocktail but with prosecco instead of gin.

The cocktail was popularised following a TikTok where the House of Dragons cast interviewed one another. TikTok

The Italian cocktail has blown up in popularity thanks to a TikTok which featured a behind-the-scenes interview of House of the Dragon actors Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke. Watch the video above.

"What's your drink of choice?" Cooke asks her co-star.

"Negroni... sbagliato...with prosecco in it," D'Arcy says.

"Oh stunning!" Cooke jokes – not knowing this short exchange would soon bring an old 80s cocktail back into fashion.
