Cadbury ice cream tubs – which were recently crowned Australia’s favourite supermarket ice cream brand – have been discontinued.

The shock news came in the same week Canstar crowned the product in the 2026 Most Satisfied Customers Awards based on a survey of 1,553 Aussie shoppers.

The tubs were awarded five stars for overall satisfaction, flavour, value for money and variety and packaging, and four stars for texture and packaging.

“Unfortunately, the sales rate for these products was not sufficient to sustain their presence in the market, and they were discontinued in supermarkets in September last year,” a Cadbury spokesperson told nine.com.au.

“There is still limited availability of the Cadbury Vanilla 460ml tub in convenience stores; however, this product will also be exiting the market within the next four weeks.”

When asked if the company is planning to bring more ice cream products on the market, the spokesperson pointed to their “great range of chocolate-coated sticks available in both supermarkets and convenience stores”.

Cadbury single-serve ice creams also came in third place in Canstar’s ranking of single-serve supermarket multi-packs, behind Aldi’s Monarc Crowns and Aldi’s Monarc Utopia.

“The results of Canstar’s ice cream awards were determined by a survey of shoppers in April, who had purchased ice creams in the last six months,” a Canstar spokesperson told nine.com.au.

“Unfortunately, since the award was finalised, Peters Ice Cream has let us know that the Cadbury Dairy Milk 460ml tub range is no longer in production.

“There is good news though, if you’re looking for a top-rated alternative, Bulla also got a star rating of five stars for overall satisfaction.”

Bulla was voted Australia’ second favourite ice cream tub choice in Canstar’s survey, followed by Connosseur in third place and Blue Ribbon in fourth place.

Still, Cadbury ice cream tubs will be missed.

The company first released ice cream tubs in 2019 in collaboration with Peter’s ice cream.

These included Vanilla with Cadbury Dairy Milk pieces, Chocolate, Picnic, Crunchie, and Oreo.

In 2023, Cadbury released the ‘Indulgent’ tubs range – smaller ice cream tubs with soft, gooey centres, including Dairy Milk Vanilla, Caramello, Caramilk and Hazelnut, the latter of which was released in 2024.
