Australia's favourite savoury cracker has been crowned, just in time for cheese board season.

It's Jatz that Aussies are choosing above all others.

Arnott's Australia tells nine.com.au Jatz is the most popular Arnott's cracker year-round, holding its number one spot in December, with Aussie shoppers buying 44 per cent more packs this month than its monthly average.

Arnott's Jatz costs $4 for a 225g pack, or you can get two for $6 this week at Coles.

Jatz ranks at number four in Arnott's list of top-selling biscuits, sweet and savoury, for 2025, with Tim Tam claiming the top spot, followed by Shapes Chicken Crimpy and Shapes Barbeque.

However, this popularity isn't evenly split across the country. Jatz is only the top choice of cracker in NSW, Qld, SA and WA. In Victoria, locals prefer Savoy, a cracker that is similar to Jatz with one key difference.

Savoy is made with golden syrup while Jatz uses malt.

That Jatz vs Savoy divide emerged when Arnott's merged with Melbourne manufacturer Brockhoff Biscuits in the 1960s, acquiring the Savoy brand.

Arnott's decided to continue manufacturing the Savoy due to its popularity, and it remains Victoria's favourite over Jatz in 2025.

Jatz Gluten Free has also seen a 30 per cent increase in sales in December, reflecting the growing demand for gluten free options this festive season.

Arnott's Water Crackers are also a popular choice, particularly for cheese boards, with a 91 per cent increase in sales in December.

Australian-based cheese expert Valerie Henbest of Smelly Cheese Co. recommends no more than three cheeses per cheese board.

A similar number of different varieties of crackers per cheeseboard is also ideal in order to cater for all tastes this festive season.
