We’re still waiting to find out the Super Bowl headlining act. Here are our best guesses

On September 29, 2025, it was announced that Bad Bunny would take to the Super Bowl stage as the halftime performer. On September 8, 2024, it was Kendrick Lamar’s name that was thrown into the ring.

Ever since Roc Nation began its official partnership as the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist in 2019, the halftime performer has been announced in September (except for The Weeknd being announced in November 2020).

But this year, we’re well into October with not a peep about who may be taking to the world’s biggest stage.

The Super Bowl halftime show is the most coveted unpaid gig in the music industry.

Bad Bunny’s Spotify streams jumped 470 per cent in the US and 210 per cent globally after his performance. While streams for Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us spiked 430 per cent after he left the stage.

So why is it taking so long for the 2026 performer to be announced? Well, some reports claim that the NFL and Roc Nation have faced some challenges when it comes to locking in a headliner, but with neither party addressing the rumours, it’s impossible to say whether they’re true or not.

But if there’s one thing we can rely on in the age of social media, it’s that internet sleuths are going to do their best to uncover the information that the people want to know – and in this instance, that information is who will be taking to the stage at the 50-yard line on February 14, 2027.

Who will be the Super Bowl LXI halftime performer?

Now that we’re well into October, this is the question on everyone’s lips.

While there are plenty of names being thrown around online, nothing has been confirmed.

But, there are some names we’re more likely to see on stage than others. Keep scrolling to find out who they are.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus certainly has the star power for a Super Bowl halftime performance.

She’s a household name, she’s been well-known for decades across multiple generations, and she’s got the kind of hits that can get a whole stadium singing along.

She’s certainly one of the most popular names being thrown around currently, but seems to be in large part thanks to a rumour circulating on social media that Apple Music (the sponsor of the halftime show) posted and quickly deleted a suspicious image.

Screenshots circulating social media claim that Apple Music accidentally teased the halftime performer by posting a photo of a woman’s silhouette that fans immediately likened to Miley Cyrus.

But there’s no evidence that Apple Music actually shared and deleted the post, with all evidence pointing to it being an elaborate fake.

That doesn’t necessarily rule Cyrus out, though. The fake was obviously created for a reason, with that reason being that she is a front-runner for the slot, and she’s recently spoken about the potential of being a Super Bowl halftime performer.

“I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure,” she said in a recent interview with Variety.

“I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can’t help but go, ‘It’s millions of people, and it’s the most-watched thing in the world.’

“But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was – taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is – I think I could find it in myself.”

Jay-Z

As the founder and chairman of Roc Nation, Jay-Z has final say on all halftime performers.

So, with rumours that the company are having difficulties locking in a major names, fans are starting to speculate that Hov himself might take to the stage.

He’s had a huge year touring the 30th anniversary celebration of his debut album Reasonable Doubt, he hosted a three-night residency at Yankee Stadium, and he released an eight-part documentary series breaking down his creative process.

Safe to say he’s in the spotlight right now. Plus, there’s the added bonus that he’d probably bring out Beyoncé. So seeing Jay-Z on the 50-yard line is definitely a possibility.

Harry Styles

He was one of the earliest names thrown into the rumour ring, and for good reason.

Harry Styles has had a mammoth year with the release of his album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, and he’s currently touring the album on the Together, Together tour.

And while the tour does go well into 2027, he doesn’t have a single show scheduled for February.

So, he’s got new music, he’s a household name, he has a clear schedule, and he’s reportedly one of two names at the top of Jay-Z’s wishlist.

There’s just one issue. Insiders have claimed that even if Styles were to be offered the gig, he wouldn’t accept it. We’ve been given no reason why, and Styles and his team have made no comment on the rumours or the Super Bowl itself.

So while it’s possible, Styles isn’t at the top of our predictions list.

Justin Bieber

After Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance, it’s clear that Bieber Fever is still well and truly alive.

Bieber is reportedly the other name at the top of Jay-Z’s wishlist, but much like Styles there are reports he may not be keen to accept the offer.

However, in Bieber’s case it’s a little less believable. He broke the internet with his Coachella set, and then went on to co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show in July.

And while he hasn’t spoken on the speculation, we’re certain that a Bieber halftime performance would get the internet hyped.

Luke Combs

Now this one is a little more left field. We haven’t seen a country star land the Super Bowl halftime gig since Shania Twain shared the stage with No Doubt and Sting in 2003.

With country hitting the mainstream music market recently (Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas just spent 23 weeks at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100), there’s a possibility that Roc Nation could be looking at a country headliner.

“I think the people would love it,” Luke Combs said in an interview on the Zach Sang Show podcast early in 2026.

“And that’s no pitch for me, I think it’s just a pitch for country music in general. Whether it’s Garth [Brooks] or Morgan Wallen or whoever it is. Somebody deserves to be up there doing the thing.

“So, I think it’s undeniable, I think it’s time, whoever’s having those conversations. I don’t know. It’s above my pay grade.”

Combs is one of the biggest names in country music, consistently selling out stadiums around the world, so if Roc Nation are leaning that way, it could very well be him we see on our screens in February.

The question is simply whether country music has enough hype right now to lock in the coveted spot.

Taylor Swift

We simply couldn’t write this list without including the star at the intersection of music and the NFL – Taylor Swift.

There’s no need to go into just how big she is, she undeniably has the star power and the fan base to have a record-breaking performance.

And since her husband is an NFL star, it seems only natural that she would be the one to take on the gig. But it’s her husband’s career that she claims as the reason she can’t do it.

“Can you imagine if he’s out there, every single week, putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport, and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreo should be?’” Swift said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in October 2025.

Will Swift ever perform at the Super Bowl? Well, we’re not sure. But we certainly hope so.  AP

But if the performer hasn’t yet been decided, and the Kansas City Chiefs end up eliminated from the playoffs, surely she wouldn’t be stepping on her husband’s toes?

Someone tell Jay-Z to call Taylor up.
