Bad Bunny wows fans with epic Super Bowl halftime performance - with very special A-list guests

Any doubts that Bad Bunny could deliver on sports' biggest stage were shattered today, as the Puerto Rican singer turned the 2026 Super Bowl into an all-out party.

The singer, 31, took to the stage at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California as the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks took a break from the action.

And the special guests? Well, Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, to name but a few.

The star, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, began singing in a massive cornfield with many characters central to Puerto Rican culture, such as uncles and jewellery store merchants.

He began with his songs, Tití Me Preguntó, Yo Perreo Sola, Safaera, and Eoo.

After he finished the first part of his performance on top of a stage, he crashed through to go into his second, with a quick cameo from Cardi B, Karol G, and Pedro Pascal.

He then led the camera to an on-stage wedding.

After the bride and groom said their vows, they parted ways to let the first support act shine – Lady Gaga.

Gaga was greeted by cheers from crowd as she belted her song, Die with a Smile, with a Latin twist.

Bad Bunny and Gaga danced with the wedding crowd before he was carried by the crowd to the next section of his performance, where he sang Baile Inolvidable and NUEVAYoL, climbing on a jungle gym.

As he performed, a clip of his Grammy's acceptance speech was broadcast on a small TV before he handed his Grammy to a little boy standing in front of it.

Ricky Martin was revealed as the second support act, singing Bad Bunny's song, Lo que le pasó a Hawaii.

He then followed it up with El Apagón and CAFé CON RON.

Bad Bunny ended his performance by listing the names of many Latin countries as a huge crowd followed him, as he sang lines from his most famous song, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, or "I should've taken more photos".

The performer makes history as the first act to sing the Super Bowl halftime show entirely in Spanish.

Bad Bunny was not paid for the performance, as is tradition for the NFL – but it's fair to say the exposure itself is payment enough.

The Super Bowl gig comes at a career high for the artist.

Bad Bunny recently made history at the Grammys, becoming the first Latin artist to clinch Album of the Year for his latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos.

The sweep didn't stop there; he also walked away with trophies for Best Global Music Performance and Best Música Urbana Album.

He's one of the most streamed artists on the planet, and none of his singles are performed in English.

After his Super Bowl gig he will embark on a world tour, which will include shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Despite his massive worldwide success, the singer avoided mainland America altogether in an unheard-of move – telling i-D magazine that feared ICE agents "could be outside" his concerts.

Instead, he held a 31-day residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, in Puerto Rico, forcing fans and stars like LeBron James to fly to the island to see him perform.

The move generated an estimated $US733 million ($1 billion) in revenue for the local economy.
