Kyle Sandilands joined by special guest at first-ever fan event

Kyle Sandilands has been visited by an extra special guest at his first-ever subscriber meet and greet in Sydney.

The radio star’s four-year-old son Otto joined attendees who turned out for the event in Strathfield South on Saturday.

“Kyle’s biggest fan has arrived!” a post shared from the event read, accompanied by a video of the father and son.

Sandilands’ mum Pam was also there as subscribers gathered to meet the 55-year-old and the team behind his new subscription platform, Kyle Sandilands Live.

The four-hour event kicked off at 10am, with fans able to meet Sandilands, pose for photos and buy merchandise.

The team also teased a number of surprises waiting for subscribers inside the studio.

“This right here is where you’re all going to be lining up tomorrow,” a team member explained, while walking viewers through the venue.

Fans were then shown the area where they would meet Sandilands and pose for a photo, before getting a glimpse at the merch stand.

“There’s more surprises to come,” the team teased.

Sandilands announced the event last month, saying he wanted to meet as many subscribers as possible and “personally thank you all for the love and support which really helped him get through the last few months”.

The post added that “subscribers are welcome to bring their partners and kids or a plus one.”

The meet and greet comes just over a month after Sandilands launched his new subscription-based show.

It has been an eventful few weeks since then, with technical difficulties disrupting the first show and Sandilands calling in sick on multiple occasions.

Earlier this week, he also revealed his brain aneurysm had grown by one millimetre since it was first discovered.

“So I come out of the doctor’s office and unfortunately the aneurysm has gotten bigger,” he said.

“Which seems small, but I didn’t want to get that, that wasn’t the thing I wanted to hear. I was hoping – and in my mind – I thought ‘I’ve got this, I’m gonna make it smaller,’ but it was bigger.

“Not big enough yet for them to operate, but not a good sign moving forward.”

Sandilands said he does now feel like surgery is inevitable now.

“That is terrifying to me,” he added.
