'I'm happy for her': Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa announces shock split with girlfriend Dakayla Wilson

Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa has announced her shock split with girlfriend and dancer Dakayla Wilson.

The former reality TV star, 21, confirmed the news this week, three months after the pair took their relationship public.

During the 11th Annual American Reality Television Awards, Siwa revealed to PEOPLE that the two would not be spending the holidays together.

"We have gone our separate ways, but she is an amazing girl," Siwa told the publication.

"And I got my own fun holiday plans, and I know she's got her family that she's spent the holidays with.

"I'm happy for her that she has [them]," she added.

Siwa hard-launched her romance with fellow dancer Dakayla Wilson in August 2024.

The two reportedly met on the set of So You Think You Can Dance Season 18, where Wilson was a contestant and runner-up in the competition, while Siwa was a judge.

"Cats outta the bag 😺," the 'Karma' singer announced at the time.

In the heartwarming video posted to Instagram, Wilson excitedly announced she was dating Siwa at what appeared to be a small dance class.

"So I have a girlfriend," she said while embracing the Dance Moms star who smiled widely and hugged her back.

Siwa will be making her way Down Under as a special guest for the 2024 TikTok Awards held in Sydney on November 27.

The star made headlines this year for her hit song 'Karma', which featured a major makeover for the Nickelodeon star.

The singer turned dancer rose to fame for starring on the reality show Dance Moms before releasing her debut single 'Boomerang' in 2016.

'Boomerang' was JoJo's official debut single, released when she was 12 years old. The single recently made YouTube history for being the 417th video to hit 1 billion views.
