Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise die countless times on-screen for time loop sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow, but a lapse in judgement almost caused them to die for real!

Edge of Tomorrow is based on the Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel All You Need is Kill, starring Tom, 51, as a soldier forced to fight in a war against aliens over and again and again until he gets it right.

So with action sequences that intense, an accident was bound to happen. Especially since Tom insists on shooting his own stunts!

We wonder if he'll rethink that stance after this little boo-boo.
