Anastacia, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ronan Keating to head to Australia as part of star-studded The Park entertainment lineup

Racing season has just become even more star-studded.

The Victoria Racing Club has revealed this year's The Park entertainment lineup for Melbourne Cup Carnival – and there's some very notable international talent on the list.

Noughties superstars Anastacia and Sophie Ellis-Bextor along with Ronan Keating will appear at Flemington Racecourse in November.

Anastacia, who is best known for hits including I'm Outta Love and Left Outside Alone, will kick off the festivities on Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday November 2.

Her set will be followed by a performance from Dutch DJ Sam Feldt.

The week will continue with a performance from Murder on the Dancefloor icon songstress Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who will already be Down Under to support Take That on the Australian leg of their tour.

Ellis-Bextor's hit track had a massive resurgence in 2023 – more than 20 years since its 2001 release – after it featured in the wildly popular film Saltburn, starring Australian actor Jacob Elordi.

Ronan Keating will be the headlining act on Thursday November 7 for Crown Oaks Day.

Keating rose to fame in the '90s Irish boy band Boyzone before going on to become a solo artist, releasing hit tracks When You Say Nothing At All and Life Is a Rollercoaster.

Several homegrown stars will join the international superstars in the entertainment lineup.

Electronic duo Empire of the Sun, On My Own singer Ricki-Lee Coulter, rock band The Temper Trap and pop singer Mia Wray will all take the stage.

The exciting announcement comes a day after the VRC confirmed Australian Olympic gold medalist Ariarne Titmus as an ambassador for the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

The 23-year-old swam her way to two gold medals at the Paris Olympic Games.

The 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 2 November.
