Taylor Swift has revealed her mother's surprising reaction to her X-rated new song, Wood.

The raunchy track from the singer's new Life of a Showgirl album is about fiance Travis Kelce's "manhood", and it turns out mum Andrea didn't quite get that.

The 35-year-old was chatting with SiriusXM's Morning Mash Up when the hosts asked if she was ever nervous about showing her parents her new music.

"I mean, what does your mum's face do when you play Wood for her for the first time?" one host asked.

"She thinks that the song is about superstitions, which it absolutely is," the Grammy winner joked.

The hosts laughed about how innocent Andrea is.

"That's the joy of the double entendre. You can read that song for people, and it just goes right over their heads," Swift added.

The Lover songwriter has entered a new era with her 12th studio album, with Wood easily her most racy, and X-rated song so far.

Wood seems to reference ex-boyfriends at the start of the track, before alluding to meeting her now-fiance, NFL star Kelce.

"Fingers crossed until you put your hand on mine / Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck / A bad sign is all good, I ain't gotta knock on wood," the lyrics continue.

Throughout the track she also alludes to "a hard rock" and "magic wand" and it continues with "Redwood tree, it ain't hard to see / His love was thе key that opened my thighs".

She also references the 36-year-old athlete's podcast New Heights in the song.

Swift and Kelce were first linked in September 2023 and were officially dating not long after that.

She has been a strong supporter in the years since, often sitting in the crowd and cheering during his Kanas City Chiefs games.

Kelce has done the same for Swift, following her around the world when he could during her record-breaking Eras Tour.
