Major star RSVP’d to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding – but didn’t show up

American TV host and presenter Ryan Seacrest has revealed he RSVP’d to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding of the century, but ended up being a no-show.

The couple married at Madison Square Garden in front of approximately 1,000 guests on the weekend – and some of the biggest names in the business – but Seacrest, 51, was forced to pull out at the last minute.

The American Idol host revealed he had a work commitment for Disney that kept him from attending the wedding on the same weekend, which was held over the July 4 weekend in the US.

“Travis and Taylor got married and I had to keep a secret from you,” he told his co-hosts as he explained what happened on his radio show,On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

“I had to keep a secret. It was, you know, a confidential invitation to everybody that was invited,” he explained.

“I RSVP’d to go and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th and so I had to cancel.”

“I was actually really excited. I was kind of torn. I tried to do both... We started live on the 3rd so I couldn’t.”

Seacrest explained that after he originally RSVP’d, he actually saw the now-newlyweds at a restaurant before the wedding, where the Cruel Summer singer gave him some hints about the lavish nuptials.

“I couldn’t do it all, but I was so honoured and thrilled to be invited,” he said.

“She was like, ‘It’s going to be so much fun, we’re going to have the best time and it’s going to go late’... I met Travis for the first time actually, he was sitting in the booth next to me.”

Another star, Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, was also forced to miss the nuptials due to work commitments.

His model fiancée Suki Waterhouse, who is friends with Swift, attended solo.

Pattinson told Entertainment Tonight: “I was working. I was shooting Batman this morning.”

After hearing about some of the lavish giveaways at the wedding, he jokingly added: “What did I get?”

Meanwhile, American singer and guitarist James Taylor reportedly told the crowd at one of his shows that he was invited to the wedding, but had to turn the invite down because he was performing at Tanglewood Music Festival.
