Taylor Frankie Paul leaves Secret Lives of Mormon wives amid ongoing controversies

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul is stepping away from the show amid ongoing controversies surrounding the show.

Paul announced her departure from the show in a post to Instagram following her recent custody battles with the fathers of her children, as well as tension with other SLOMW cast members.

“My gratitude goes to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return. However, I don’t desire to move forward like this,” Paul wrote.

“I originally was willing to be removed to let [the rest of the cast] all continue on with less stress and I’m back to that point.”

She went on to take jabs at the SLOMW cast, which includes, Mayci Neeley, Jennifer Affleck, Mikayla Mathews, Jessi Draper, Miranda McWhorter, Layla Taylor and Whitney Leavitt. It also includes one of her children’s fathers, Dakota Mortensen.

“Some of the girls know what I’ve been through and then to turn and collectively pile on with their ‘statements’ knowing there has been ongoing abuse through the system the last 8 months on top of what I’ve endured,” she continued.

“Almost the entire cast plus some, going at me….laughing about my kids is disgusting.”

Paul continued, writing that she had “bit [her] tongue” during certain situations.

“These same people had meetings telling me I need to lead the way of pay….my voice was the only one that can make it happen and then they would work from what I demanded,” she continued.

“I’m grateful I never followed through with their requests of demands and I’m grateful I kept same pay out of fairness and integrity,” she alleged.

“I treated production and crew with respect always, in fact they are ones who checked on me throughout this. It’s to the point of bullying for months now.

“My question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough…I’m just relieved to be out.”

Her departure from the show comes after Paul had her parenting time reduced to eight hours a week after allegedly failing multiple drug tests within a 60-day period.

Recently, a slew of cast members announced they were departing the show, or were considering leaving after Season 6 wraps filming.

Mathews announced her departure from the show last week, explaining she has decided to leave the show “after hearing some news.”

“There’s no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I’ve had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly,” she added.

Her statement continued, reading: “Supporting an ADULT doesn’t mean constantly making excuses for toxic behaviour while giving unconditional sympathy and grace with zero accountability or change. I was in that enabling cycle for years, and I’m not going to be a part of that again!”

Following her statement, other girls in the cast including Neeley, McWhorter and Layla, revealed they had reconsidered joining the show past season 6.

All of them hinted at Paul’s behaviour, and her on-again-off-again relationship with Mortensen, being the catalyst for them not wanting to take part in the show any more.

Leavitt had already announced she was leaving the show earlier this year after she snagged the role as Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical, Chicago.

The recent drama comes in the weeks after the show’s fifth season premiered.

The season touched on her brief time as The Bachelorette US, with ABC network scrapping her season from airing.

Paul revealed that she accepted a marriage proposal from contestant Dough Mason at the end of her time on The Bachelorette, only to hook up with Mortensen one day after she returned from filming.

Her season of The Bachelorette was cancelled after footage emerged of Paul throwing chairs at Mortensen with one of their children nearby in 2023.

Two Utah police departments then opened domestic violence investigations into Paul and Mortensen, sparking a drawn-out legal battle.

In 2023, Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault as part of a plea agreement which resulted in her other charges being dismissed.

Her plea was held in abeyance, allowing the felony to be reduced to a misdemeanour upon fulfilling her court obligations.

Another incident in 2026 resulted in a judge ruling Paul could no longer spend unsupervised time with her two-year-old son Ever.

That order was lifted a few months later. The scandal prompted Hulu to halt filming on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives′ fifth season.

New scenes and confessionals were filmed after production recommenced in May, with the fifth season being released earlier this month.
