Selena Gomez’s husband Benny Blanco has revealed they secretly dated for nine months before going public with their romance.
The American music producer, 38, spilled the beans on his relationship with the singer, 33, who he married in September last year.

Speaking to EL PAIS, he said: “We kept our relationship private for a long time, about eight or nine months.”
Blanco revealed that Gomez asked him if he really wanted to be with her, as their relationship would be in the public eye.
“And she asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? I understand if you want us to just be friends’,” he explained.
“And then I said, ‘You know what? Screw it.’ We’re lucky because we both have friends and family we’ve known since before all this, and we’re surrounded by a good group of people we love.”
The producer, who is behind hits including Halsey & Khalid’s Eastside and Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself, added that the pair don’t really fight.
“I would never raise my voice to her,” he said.
The pair are believed to have started dating in 2023. He attended her 31st birthday party at the time.
He has produced some of her tracks including Same Old Love.

In December 2024, Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin.
“Forever begins now,” she wrote at the time, showing off her stunning diamond engagement ring.

The pair tied the knot in September 2025, in Santa Barbara, California.
For the ceremony, Gomez wore three designer wedding dresses from Ralph Lauren, spilling the beans on her look during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
“I tried to do this sneaky thing… I didn’t want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can,” she began, before going through her bridal looks.
“So that dress was initially for the look and this one was made by Ralph Lauren, they all were.”
