Ruby Rose claims she was a murder suspect in her teenage years
Australian actress Ruby Rose claimed she was once a murder suspect after she found herself in the middle of a tragic accident.
The Orange is the New Black actress explained she was “accused of murder” at age 15 on the Off the Vine podcast with Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Rose claimed she had snuck away from a party to a nearby playground to have her “first” cigarette with a mate when they noticed “something hanging” from the play equipment.
“I thought it was a doll hanging, [my friend and I] locked eyes and we started walking towards it,” she explained.
“As we got closer we released it was a real human, like four and a half years old. There was blood coming out of his ears, nose and mouth it was very traumatic.”
She continued, saying her friend ran back to the party to get the adults at the party to help, which included Rose’s mum and the mother of the other children.
“I picked him up, and I thought I’d saved his life because there was a big deep breath and I was like, “Oh my god, Thank goodness.’”
“Got him back to the house, they did CPR trying to keep him alive, and called an ambulance, but unfortunately, he was brain-dead for so long that it wasn’t…”
After the child was taken to hospital in an ambulance, Rose was confident that he would be okay, however, he unfortunately passed away.
“Then I got a call saying that he probably wouldn’t be okay. That they were keeping him on a machine, but it didn’t look great.”

The following day, police showed up at Rose’s school to question her over the death, which lead to her classmates calling her a murderer.
“People were like, ‘baby killer!’ I was breaking down,” she said.
The actress explained that the child’s older brother had witnessed the death but suffered from “dissociative amnesia” so he couldn’t remember what happened at first.
Eventually, he remembered what happened and told the police it was a tragic accident.
“He went back to the police and thank goodness told them, because they didn’t think it was me anyway, but that doesn’t always happen,” she said.
“He remembered and I was cleared, but [the child’s mother] still didn’t want me at the funeral. So everyone went except me.”

The interview touched on a range of other topics and anecdotes from Rose’s life, including her fractured relationship with her father and her decision to leave Hollywood.
Rose was the lead in the CW series Batwoman from 2019 to 2020. She suffered from a spinal injury on set which promoted her to leave Hollywood behind.
Her breakout role came in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, which catapulted her to fame as she took on bigger roles, including in films like Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
Now, she lives a quieter life in country Victoria.
