John Goodman makes rare outing with wife Anna Beth Goodman after 90kg weight loss

John Goodman and his wife of nearly four decades have made a rare public outing together following his 90 kilogram weight loss.
Goodman, 74, and Anna Beth Goodman, 57, were all smiles at the Los Angeles premiere of Goodman’s new film alongside Tom Cruise, Digger.

Goodman was dressed in a classic black suit and embraced his wife, who wore an elegant deep purple gown, as they posed for cameras.
The couple will celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary in November, having married in front of 650 guests in New Orleans in 1989.
They have one daughter, 36-year-old film editor and producer Molly Evangeline Goodman.
The Monsters Inc. star plays US President Compson in Digger, the highly anticipated dark comedy starring Cruise, Riz Ahmed and Sandra Hüller.
As he takes part in the extensive press tour, fans who remember Goodman for his roles in Roseanne or The Flintstones have been stunned by his major 90kg transformation.
The actor has spoken about his weight loss over the years.
His journey beginning when he quit alcohol in 2007, part of making healthier, more sustainable lifestyle choices.

The actor hired a personal trainer and changed his eating habits, going from a reported 181kg to maintaining his 90kg weight loss.
The Big Lebowski actor said he simply wanted to “live life better”.

In a 2016 interview with US outlet ABC, Goodman reflected on his old habits that caused his weight to fluctuate.
“This time I wanted to do it slowly, move, exercise,” he told the publication at the time. “I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still any more.”
