Riley Keough marks her first Mother's Day without late mum, Lisa Marie Presley: 'Most deeply loving mama'

Riley Keough has penned an emotional tribute to her late mum to mark the first Mother's Day without her around.

The Daisy Jones & the Six actress, 33, rarely opens up about her famous family on social media, however she took the opportunity this weekend to thank her mother Lisa Marie Presley.

Sharing an old photograph of her mum and father Danny Keough, the mother-of-one added a simple yet meaningful caption to her one million followers on Instagram.

"Lucky to have had the best and most deeply loving mama I could have asked for," Keough wrote.

The photo showed the actress as a newborn while her parents smiled whimsically at the camera. Keough was born in 1989 and the couple went on to welcome a son, Benjamin, in 1992.

Friends and fans took to the comment section to offer their support and love for Keough.

Actress Lindsay Lohan shared a few heart emojis, while Australian singer Jessica Origliasso wrote: "Our first loves forever".

The actress is herself a mother after revealing she secretly welcomed a baby girl while farewelling her mum in January 2023. Lisa Marie died from cardiac arrest aged 54 on January 12.

Days before the estranged grandmother-granddaughter duo are set to face off in court for a second time, Priscilla, 77, denied rumours of a feud.

Keough's husband Ben Smith-Peterson announced the news for her in a statement she had prepared at Lisa Marie's memorial.

"I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me," the statement read.

Keogh's post also marks a rare public display of personal affection for her mum amid a heated legal debate with her grandmother Priscilla Presley over her mum's trust.

When accosted by paparazzi inside an airport on May 14, per Fox News, Priscilla indicated fans should "not believe what [they're] reading" and that she and Keough are on good terms.

Priscilla's comments come weeks after both she and Keough skipped the first hearing regarding their battle over the late Lisa Marie's trust, which saw the late singer's ex-husband Michael Lockwood named guardian at litem over Lisa Marie's youngest daughters, 14-year-old twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, regarding their late mother's will.
