Patrick Brammall addresses brutal snub of wife during Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour

On his press tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2, Patrick Brammall was hilariously called out by his wife, Harriet Dyer, when he confidently said that Anne Hathaway was the most beautiful person in the world.

Now, in an interview with Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small, the Aussie star, 50, addressed the viral blunder.

Chatting with the couple ahead of the release of the final season of their hit show Colin From Accounts, Smallzy brought up the clip Dyer posted to Instagram calling her husband out on the comment.

“I was literally watching it at home; that was real. And I filmed it for the family,” she explained.

In the red carpet interview, the interviewer spoke about one of Hathaway’s latest accolades, saying, “The world’s most beautiful person according to People Magazine”.

To which Brammall quickly replied, “and me too”.

“Looking back at it, it wasn’t a great moment for me,” Brammall said.

“I probably, if I could, [would] have played it differently.”

Smallzy and Dyer then gave Brammall the opportunity to correct his mistakes, asking him for a second time who the most beautiful woman in the world is.

“[Hathaway] is beautiful, not as beautiful as my wife,” he said.

“She’s fine. Anne’s great. She’s wonderful. But my wife is a bit more beautiful.”

Dyer joked that it was a bit late to make up for the mistake before adding that she totally gets why he said it.

“It’s alright. She is beautiful. I agree,” she said.

The couple first met in 2015 on the set of the detective comedy series No Activity. They went on to co-create, write and star in Colin from Accounts, now in its third and final season.

While the couple are well known in Australia, Brammall recently reached new heights of fame when he starred in The Devil Wears Prada 2 as Hathaway’s love interest.

With a small role, his character was criticised heavily, including in an article by Cosmopolitan that was shared on the publication’s social media.

It prompted Dyer to come to her husband’s defence in the comments section.

“Mean post. They cut scenes out. The edit is brutal,” she wrote.

“I liked him. And I married him.”
