Patrick Brammall's wife Harriet Dyer hits out at 'mean' criticism of his role in The Devil Wears Prada 2: 'They cut scenes out'
The reviews are in for The Devil Wears Prada 2, and some characters have taken more of a beating than others – namely, that of our beloved Patrick Brammall.
The Aussie actor plays Peter, a contractor and Anne Hathaway's love interest in the sequel. While he seemed lovable to most, some did not see the point in his character's addition, including an author at Cosmopolitan, Megan Wallace.
She wrote an article titled "Andy's one-dimensional boyfriend in 'Devil Wears Prada 2' is an insult to single women everywhere", criticising the inclusion of Brammall's character in the film.

"Peter, played by Patrick Brammall, is as one-dimensional as they come," she said, theorising that instead of risking a repeat of the love interest becoming the villian like in the first film, "it seems like the creators of the sequel decided to swap Nate for a paper-thin man whose sole function is to remind us that employed, single men do exist."
Many people took issue with this take, including Brammall's wife and Colin From Accounts co-creator, Aussie actress Harriet Dyer.
"Mean post. They cut scenes out. The edit is brutal," Dyer, 37, commented on the publication's Instagram post promoting the article.
"I liked him. And I married him."

Others came out in droves to support the Aussie actor and his wife.
"Hey!!! No One disses our Patty Brammel !!!! ❤️" said one fan.
"He's bloody marvelous and it's crap that they cut out the character development," another added.
"I think its nothing against the actor, but against the unmotivated storyline," one pointed out.
Others had more nuanced takes.
"He wasn't a plot point but I think that was the point! Her life wasn't centered around her relationship with him," said one.
"The sequel works because it ditches the 'will she choose career or love' framework. Turns out that was always a false choice dressed up as tension," another added.
Others got straight to it: "The point was Patrick Brammall getting his moment!"
