Paris Hilton under fire over two-year-old daughter’s Halloween costume

Paris Hilton has revealed her family Halloween costume on Instagram but some of her 26.4 million followers aren’t happy with her kids′ outfits.

The socialite, 45, dressed up as Belle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, entrepreneur husband Carter Reum donned a furry Beast costume, and their two kids wore outfits based on side characters from the animated classic.

Son Phoenix, three, looked adorable in a Lumiere costume and daughter London, two, was all smiles in her pink and purple dress based on Mrs Potts.

Though the whole family seemed delighted with their coordinated costumes in photos and videos Hilton shared to her social media accounts, some fans slammed her as “narcissistic” for not letting her daughter dress as the princess.

“If my mother got to be Belle and I had to be the mother tea pot there would be hell to pay,” one commented.

“Cute, but maybe the kids should have been Belle and Beast and the adults the side dishes. I mean it is a kids holiday,” another wrote.

Critics seemed to think it was unfair of Hilton to dress up as a princess and put her daughter in an outfit based on Mrs Potts, the housekeeper side character who was transformed into an enchanted teapot.

But most of Hilton’s followers didn’t care one bit, calling the family outfit “so cute” and totally on brand for her.

Hilton seemed unfazed by the criticism and the kids were clearly having a ball in behind the scenes footage she shared online.

One clip showed the moment she revealed her Belle costume to Phoenix and London for the first time, sparking looks of absolute joy on their little faces.

Naturally, all the kids wanted to do was figure out what was under their mum’s massive skirt – and that’s exactly what they did, using it like a tent, much to Hilton’s chagrin.

When the time came for the family photoshoot, she and Reum employed a little bit of bribery to get the kids to behave.

“Phoenix, if you’re super good for this you’re gonna get to meet a gecko. Do you wanna meet a gecko and hold it?” Reum could be heard saying off-camera.

The video then cut to footage of the three-year-old and Hilton holding a tegu, a species of lizard that can grow up to a metre long, and a much smaller crested gecko.

Phoenix looked utterly thrilled with his reward.

Hilton started dating Reum in 2019 and announced their engagement in 2021.

They tied the knot that same year and welcomed both of her children via surrogate in 2023, just 10 months apart.
