Emotional reason One Direction's Liam Payne flew to Argentina days before shock death aged 31
British-born former thousands of kilometres away from his hometown – and the reason he was .
It's no secret the 31-year-old had a tumultuous relationship with his former bandmates, but it appeared his trip to Buenos Aires was, in part, to make amends with one of them.

"We're going to Argentina," he told his fans, speaking about himself and his partner of two years Kate Cassidy, in a video shared to Snapchat on October 2.
"One, because we want to. Two, because we want to. And three, because Niall Horan's playing down there and I think we might just go and say, 'Hello'," he continued.
"It's been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We've got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy.
"No bad vibes or nothing like that but we just need to talk."

Payne was captured at the concert interacting with fans standing underneath his private box at the venue and even dancing to entertain them.

It's unclear whether Payne and Horan were able to talk like he wanted before his shock death two weeks later, but they did pose together backstage for a photo.
