Kylie Kelce issues public apology to Kate Middleton after ‘offensive’ mistake
Podcaster Kylie Kelce apologised for referring to Kate Middleton as “Princess Kate” rather than by the correct title Catherine, Princess of Wales.
Kylie, 34, who is the sister-in-law of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, issued a direct apology to the future queen on Thursdays episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast.

“I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine, Princess Kate was offensive,” she said.
“I didn’t know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly, I apologise for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.”
She then addressed Middleton, directly, saying: “Princess Catherine or the Princess of Wales, I apologise. I will get that sorted immediately starting now.”
Middleton’s royal title became Catherine, Princess of Wales, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, when her son, Charles, was named King of England. His ascension to the throne meant his son, William, became the Prince of Wales.
Before Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Middleton’s formal title was Duchess of Cambridge.
Following her apology, Kelce invited the princess to join her for an episode of her podcast, adding that their “husbands chitchatted on the other podcast.”
Prince William previously appeared her husband Jason’s podcast, New Heights, which he hosts with his brother, Chiefs tight-end and husband to Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce.
“Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common,” she said.
Kylie went on to say she “did not” think Middleton had the time to come onto her podcast, but extended an invite anyway.
She also added that while she “loves curse words,” she would “clean up her act” in front of the Princess.

“At the end of the day, I am respectful of the situations that I am put in, at least being respectful to the people I am speaking to,” Kylie said.
Jason and Travis Kelce both met Prince William and his children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, backstage at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in London in June 2024.
He appeared on New Heights in July, 2026, where the trio talked about meeting the Prince for the first time.
“I got the chance to see you not too long ago, and invite you on the show,” Travis recalled of that fateful meeting.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end added that being introduced to Prince William and his two oldest kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, was “one of the coolest moments ever.”
“Me and Jason joke about it all the time,” he admitted to the prince.
“We were so nervous to meet you guys and the royal family. Jason has this running joke where he didn’t know what to do with his beer.”
Jason then chimed in to add that meeting Princess Charlotte was “still the highlight” of his evening.
“I have four daughters as well, so, I mean, she was great,” Jason said.
Prince William appeared in awe of the retired footballer’s ultimate ‘girl dad’ status, noting he “didn’t know how [Kelce] did that.”
