Court approves Kylie Jenner's petition to change one-year-old son's name

In March 2022, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott announced they thought their son's name Wolf Jacques Webster no longer suited him – just a few weeks after his birth.

Now, over a year later, their court petition to change his name has officially been granted.

The documents, filed in June, show both Jenner and Scott were on board with changing their son's name from Wolf Jacques to Aire, which means 'lion of god' in Hebrew.

Jenner appeared in court virtually on Friday, however Scott was not in attendance.

The court documents read, "The Court finds that the other parent was timely notified and has not filed an objection.

"There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted."

When Jenner first announced her son wasn't going to be called Wolf anymore, it was almost a year before she announced his new name.

In January 2023, just a few weeks before her son's first birthday, Jenner captioned an Instagram post "AIRE 🤍."

In the season three finale of the hit reality show The Kardashian's, Jenner spoke with friend Anastasia "Stassie" Karanikolaou about her regret regarding her son's name.

"I've officially started the process of changing my son's name because his legal name is Wolf Webster, so I'm going to do Aire Webster, A-I-R-E," she said.

"I didn't realise the postpartum would hit me that hard. I never called him Wolf, ever. And then the second, that night, I cried in the shower.

"That's not his name. What did I just do? Wolf? Someone just told me this 24 hours ago, to name my son Wolf! It wasn't even on the list!"

Jenner and Scott also share five-year-old daughter Stormi, so Aire's official name change sits perfectly alongside the name of his older sister.
