Kelly Osbourne gets candid about fractured relationship with estranged sister: ‘Don’t want you in my life’

Kelly Osbourne has spoken candidly about her fractured relationship with her older sister, Aimee Osbourne and revealed there’s no hope of a reconciliation. 

“If I’m honest, my older sister didn’t really ever acknowledge me and my brother [Jack Osbourne],” the 41-year-old said during an interview on the We Need To Talk podcast.

“She was just in her own world doing her own thing. I do, to a certain extent, feel as though she was embarrassed of us.” 

Host Paul Brunson asked if Aimee was “embarrassed” by her family, which includes famous parents Sharon and the late Ozzy Osbourne. 

“I’ll never really truly understand. It just felt that way,” Kelly replied. 

“I know… we’re very different. Everything I am, she’s not. Everything she is, I’m not. Like you couldn’t be more polar opposite. We’re like oil and water.”

Kelly admitted that there is some “resentment” towards Aimee, 43, for not being there as a big sister. 

When Brunson asked if there’s any chance of a reconciliation between the sisters, Kelly shut it down. 

“I respect her, I accept her, but we’re different, and that’s OK,” she said. 

“If you’re not going to accept me for who I am and constantly be trying to change me and say horrible things about me, and truly seem to thrive when I’m not doing well, I don’t want you in my life.” 

Aimee has distanced herself from the rest of the Osbourne family and was a notable absence from the family’s iconic reality show, The Osbournes. 

The show ran from March 2002 to March 2005, and during that time Aimee, who was 16, moved out of the family home so she wouldn’t have to participate.

Opening up about her decision to skip the show, Aimee explained that she had grown up in the spotlight but had always valued her privacy. 

“For me personally, and for who I am, as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn’t really line up with what I saw my future as,” she told The Independent in 2020. 

But the decision to leave home at 16 to avoid being in the show is one that Sharon struggled with. 

“She felt too that she didn’t want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea, it was appalling to her. And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did… She was happy, but it broke my heart when she moved,” Sharon said. 

Despite her clearly strained relationship with her family, Aimee made a rare appearance alongside them at the 2026 Grammys to honour the late Ozzy Osbourne.
