Kim Kardashian is officially a legally single woman, though her divorce from Kanye West has yet to be finalised.

Multiple outlets have confirmed that during a bifurcation hearing on Wednesday morning local time, the judge granted the 41-year-old Skims founder's request to be legally single, three months after she made the request to change her marital status.

Kardashian appeared virtually in court via video conference, while her estranged husband West, 44, did not attend at all.

Kardashian's new single status also means she is no longer known as Kim Kardashian West, officially dropping the rapper's surname from her own, returning to Kim Kardashian.

West, who is legally known by the mononym 'Ye,' had previously objected to Kardashian's petition to be declared single ahead of their custody and property issues being settled, though it wasn't for an interpersonal reason.

Rather, West and his lawyer were reportedly worried that Kardashian's single status may affect their shared assets.

The Donda artist, therefore, supported her decision, but with certain safeguards that would keep their assets as marital property, plus three further conditions — though a prenup was already in place that keeps his and Kardashian's property separate.

One of West's conditions the judge was reportedly amenable to was that any money intended to be split between Kardashian and West would be reverted to the other if one of them dies.

West's request to prevent Kardashian from transferring any assets she had kept in trusts was denied by the judge, however, as was his request regarding marital privilege.

The judge denied the Yeezy founder's request for Kardashian to waive her right to marital privilege, whereby any person she may marry in the future would be able to refuse to testify in court about their spousal communications with her.

In conjunction with Kardashian's new legal relationship status, West is also officially legally single — a move that comes as he seemingly confirms a new romance of his own.

After his split from Kardashian, West was linked with model Irina Shayk and actress Julia Fox.

Now, he's reportedly dating Kardashian lookalike Chaney Jones, news he seemed to confirmed when he shared a photo of himself and Jones holding hands to his Instagram with the caption, "🖤."
