Keith Urban’s first public message to Sunday-Rose after daughters ‘cut him off’ following Kidman divorce

Keith Urban has wished daughter Sunday Rose a happy birthday, marking the first public post since reports both daughters had “cut him off” after his divorce from their mother Nicole Kidman.

The 58-year-old’s birthday tribute to his eldest comes after Sunday Rose, 18, seemingly unfollowed him on social media in April. The model has since re-followed her father on Instagram.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUNCHKIN love you Dad xxxx,” Urban wrote alongside a carousel of images of Sunday Rose’s recent runway walk for Christian Dior.

Ex-wife Kidman also shared a sweet birthday tribute, posting: “Happy 18th my angel, you couldn’t be more loved.”

Kidman and Urban shocked the world in September 2025 when they split after nearly 20 years of marriage.

In recent months there has been talk of tensions between Urban and his daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, 15.

It was reported that Urban was upset when Sunday Rose, in an interview with Elle, credited her mother for her work ethic and named her the “biggest inspiration in life”, without any mention of him.

Those rumours were dispelled when a source spoke out in May, shutting down speculation that the girls were no longer in contact with their dad.

“The girls are very close with their mum and also protective of her,” the source told People.

“They do have a relationship with their dad, too.”

The source added that despite what people may assume about their situation, things are actually really normal. 

That seems to be the case after Kidman and Urban both shared public messages to one another in June.

Urban wished his ex well on her 59th birthday while the Practical Magic actress shared a touching nod to him on Father’s Day in the US.

Kidman and Urban finalised their divorce in January and she sought to be the “primary residential parent”, per their custody agreement.
