Jerrie Demasi and Michael Genovese welcome first child
Nine News Perth reporters Jerrie Demasi and Michael Genovese have welcomed a baby girl into the world.
The couple shared their joy as they revealed that their first child, Tommie, was born on Thursday, August 4.
Demasi shared a series of photos on Instagram.

Tommie weighed in at 2.6kg. Instagram
"The best day of our lives," she wrote.
"Welcome my baby girl.
"Tommie Genovese. Born 04/08 at a teeny 2.6kg."

Demasi told WAtoday that Tommie – named after Demasi's grandmother Thomai – arrived two weeks early and required a caesarean section, which she said was "quite traumatising".

The duo are overjoyed to be parents.
"Obviously babies are born all the time, but when it's your baby it just feels so special," Genovese told the Nine-owned news outlet.
"It's an incredible feeling."

In an article for 9Honey three months ago, Demasi opened up about her experience of being pregnant.
"I'm certain we will face our fair share of challenges," she wrote to her future child.
"I know that I won't get everything right. But I promise I will do my best to guide you, love you, and hold your hand through it all. I cannot wait to be your Mummy."
Genovese and Demasi have been married since 2019.
