Jennifer Lopez has responded to Ben Affleck's recent praise of her performance in their new movie Unstoppable.

The actor surprised many fans by mentioning his estranged wife in a recent interview, labelling her performance as "spectacular".

The actress returned the compliment at a London screening of the movie she stars in and Affleck co-produced through his production company with Matt Damon, Artists Equity.

When asked about her reaction to the recent comments, JLo said it's how she'd describe all the cast and crew.

"I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful," she said on Tuesday night (Wednesday AEDT) in a clip on social media.

The pop star filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, the date of second wedding anniversary, though documents revealed they had split in April.

The couple wed in a Las Vegas chapel in July 2022 before having a second, more lavish and traditional affair a month later.

Just weeks after the split became public, Unstoppable had its debut at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6, where Lopez wore an eye-catching gown for the premiere.

Affleck skipped the event but Damon joined Lopez and some of the cast, which also includes Don Cheadle, Michael Peña and Aussie actress Rose Byrne's husband, Bobby Cannavale.

Lopez plays Judy Robles in the biopic, who became a teen mum to Anthony Robles (played by Jharrel Jerome), a one-legged wrestling champion and author.

Affleck, who was only involved behind-the-scenes and doesn't star in the movie, opened up about making the film in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Affleck spoke to the movie's early success, comparing it to his other project Small Things Like These.

"Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it's similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists. [Director] Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer [Lopez] and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film," he told the media outlet.

In sharing his personal connection to the film, Affleck added, "Jennifer is spectacular".

"We believed in the right people [in Small Things Like These] and Unstoppable is another example of that," he added.
