Ben Affleck praises Jennifer Lopez amid their divorce: 'Spectacular'

Ben Affleck has made an ultra-rare comment about his estranged wife, Jennifer Lopez. 

As the pair navigates their ongoing divorce, Affleck appeared in an interview with Matt Damon for Entertainment Tonight. 

The actor, 52, showered Lopez, 55, with praise as he discussed their upcoming film, Unstoppable.

Affleck spoke to the movie's early success, comparing it to his other project, Small Things Like These.

"Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it's similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists. [Director] Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer [Lopez] and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film," he told the media outlet.

In sharing his personal connection to the film, Affleck added, "Jennifer is spectacular".

"We believed in the right people [in Small Things Like These] and Unstoppable is another example of that," he added.

The film, about wrestler Anthony Robles's life, was produced by Affleck's production company, Artists Equity.

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Tuesday, August 20, in L.A. County Superior Court. The official separation date is listed as April 26.

The singer and actress brought about the end of her marriage herself, filing the divorce application without the help of a lawyer.

The date of the filling was also meaningful, coinciding with the second anniversary of the couple's Riceboro, Georgia-set wedding ceremony in 2022.

The filing came after reports the pair lived on separate coasts over the summer.

Lopez celebrated her birthday at the end of July in a Bridgerton-themed party that did not appear to include Affleck among the attendees.

The singer also attended the premiere of Unstoppable by herself, with Affleck seemingly absent from the event.

Lopez cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their divorce, though they appear to be on good terms.
