Jack White’s wife Olivia Jean files for divorce over ‘inappropriate marital conduct’

Singer Olivia Jean has filed for divorce from her husband, The White Stripes rocker Jack White, more than three years after they married on stage in front of fans.

Jean, 36, cited irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” in filings seen by People, alleging White, 50, is “guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper.”

In Tennessee, where Jean filed, “inappropriate marital conduct” is the most cited fault-based grounds for divorce.

Nine.com.au has reached out to representatives for White for comment.

The couple married on stage in Detroit in December 2022, moments after White proposed in front of the crowd.

Jean’s filing stated she was “dependent on [White’s] income” and requested spousal maintenance and that he continued to pay for her insurance.

This was White’s third marriage.

He had previously been married to his White Stripes bandmate Meg White, 51, from 1996 to 2000 and English model Karen Elson from 2005 to 2013.

In 2022, he told Variety he loved the unique way his and Jean’s marriage began.

“I’m proud that that’s how we got married, because it felt real and romantic, and it wasn’t pre-planned or fake,” he said.

White also gave Jean a shoutout during the White Stripes induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.

“I myself thank all my brothers and sisters and parents for adding pieces to my life and to help push me forward, and for letting me make all that noise in the house all the time growing up,” he said.

“And I thank my children, Scarlett, Henry Lee, and my wife, Olivia Jean, for also pushing me to make all that noise in the house nowadays.”
