Halsey has opened up about their health struggles revealing that they "almost lost" their life.

The American singer, who uses she/they pronouns, took to Tumblr with an emotional post in the wake of negative commentary they received after returning to music.

They revealed that they "regret coming back" to music after the hate they received and expressed that they no longer have energy for such negativity, especially after their health challenges with a lupus and rare T-cell disorder diagnosis.

"It's hard to want to engage in a space that is completely devoid of any kindness, sympathy, patience; or to be honest human decency," the Closer singer wrote.

"Especially after years of hiding from the interactions for fear that this EXACT thing would happen. I don't know man. I almost lost my life. I am not gonna do anything that doesn't make me happy anymore. I can't spiritually afford it."

Halsey continued to share that after falling ill, they were determined to make a comeback.

"When I got sick all I could think about was getting better so I could come back and be a part of THIS again," they wrote.

"But I don't even know what *this* is anymore and I want to crawl in a hole and I regret coming back."

Halsey's emotional update comes as the singer recently released their singles The End and Lucky, but the music video for the latter copped some backlash.

The singer outlined in their tumblr post that their "own fans are hands" are "meaner to [them] than any other people on the planet".

They continued to share that it "used to be just a minority" of their fans that "were awful" to them.

"Now it seems like a majority have only stuck around to chime in occasionally with their opinion of how much they hate me or how awful I am," they added.

In June, Halsey revealed their private battle with their health in a post on social media.

"You've all been so kind so I want to share a bit more. In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder," they wrote in an Instagram post.

"Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life."
